GREENSIDE collaborates with TULUM CIRCULA in the MARES LIMPIOS programme which has been carrying out environmental studies and analyses in the protected areas of Quintana Roo Mexico for years, in order to determine the levels of pollution in our oceans and to be able to generate actions to help their recovery.
We want to be able to expand this programme to other marine protection areas and learn how the tides and the interconnection between these areas affect the oceans in order to help make decisions to improve the marine ecosystem.
The oceans produce at least 50% of the planet's oxygen, are home to most of the Earth's biological diversity and provide the main source of protein for over 1 billion people.
The United Nations Clean Seas project promotes the right to a healthy environment by ending the accumulation of rubbish in the world’s oceans, with a special focus on plastic waste.
